Today we got some sad news. The agency we chose - Children's Hope International (CHI) - has to close its IL branch. Actually, it is closing all of its branches outside of St. Louis. I guess finances were just too tight and some of the closing of countries and tightening of restrictions just became too much for them to continue operating.
What does that mean for us? Well, we are still going with CHI. However, we are using them as our placing agency, not our homestudy agency. We will decide on another homestudy agency here in IL and then CHI will help us with the Ethiopia side of things. It is a bummer, but we understand. It will most likely move our timeline back a bit, but we are not yet sure how much.
