Tomorrow I will be seeing the Stanley Cup in person for the first time. For those of you who know me, this is a big deal. I have been a hockey player and fan for the past 20 years. I am 28. I wanted to be called Bet because Elisabeth is too long and "girly" to yell on a hockey rink. For a few years there, my life was hockey. For the past four years, my team has been the Blackhawks. I went to a game four years ago where we bought $10 tickets and sat in the 12th row. That's how bad they were. That's how empty the United Center was. But we stuck it out and the United Center is full every game now. The cup has come to ChiTown!
However, with all the hype and hornhonking, this is not the happiest day of my life. To date, my wedding was the happiest day of my life. But I eagerly anticipate the meeting of Beans as the happiest day of my life.
I am more excited about meeting Beans, than I am about the Blackhawks winning the cup. Chicago has waited 49 years for last night. I have waited 2 years almost to the day for Beans. I am still waiting. It will be worth it.
Sorry, Lord Stanley, but you ain't got nothin' on Beans.

Bet and Erik, I am sooo praying for Beans to come home, and soon. It's so exciting to see how you are praying for him and loving him so fiercely, without having met him yet. Love you both. Terra
