17 days!

We have 17 days until our big departure. As you can imagine, there is so much to do from packing to house stuff to malaria pills. But all the stress will be worth it in just 19 days when we meet our son.

We have tons of new photos of him. It makes us feel like we understand his personality so much more to see him in different circumstances. We think that his "terrified" face is just the face he makes when he wakes up. I think some people have woken him up just to take his picture.

He can push himself up on his tummy. That photo was super fun to see! He smiles and moves and we can't wait to hold him!

I have a couple showers coming up where I am hoping to get more stuff to get ready for him. I got some great hand-me-downs from Dash and Nelleke in Michigan. I think we are doing ok on clothing in general, though I need more pants and shoes.

For anyone interested in helping his orphanage, we can bring donations. They need playtex drop in inserts, older kids clothes, shoes for all ages, and school supplies. Any of those things can be taken over there and we are excited to help them out! We can't give cash, but we sure can load up our suitcases.

We are also learning Amharic. It's tough! There are sounds we have not made before and emphasis on different syllables than we are used to. The script is completely different, too. We hope to make some big strides before we leave.

Moosh, we're coming! Get ready! That's what we are doing - getting ready for you, precious one!
