December 8, 2010

It is with joyous and grateful hearts that we would like to officially announce the adoption of our son, Zain Sato Olson born May 6, 2010 and adopted November 25, 2010.

Zain is a Hebrew, Arabic and English version of John meaning God's gracious gift and Beloved. We feel that Zain is a gift to us directly from God. He is beloved by us, and most importantly, by God.

Sato is his given Sidama (Ethiopian people group) name. While there is no literal translation and the meaning is hard to translate, it is tied to the words,"life" and "lush" and is given as a name with hope for a life of fruitfulness. We want him to always remember his Ethiopian roots. We as his parents hope for a life of fruitfulness in the Spirit for him.
